Hot Chris Bunz, last weeks third place took advantage of slip ups by both leading teams to take a two point lead at the top of the league. They beat Hit & Miss by 8-4 while Mac Too lost to X-Men and Kings were beaten by the Sopranos. Second and third are level on points and four points ahead of X-Men in fourth.

The Brothers Grimm were again the high scorers in all categories this week with Steve the only bowler to hit a 200 game and a 500 series. Rose Barton was close behind with big improvements in her season high scores - she had a 622 handicap series (472 scratch) which is third best in the league.

Several players improved their high series scores; Dana Goodwin +53 to 368 (593 with handicap), Bunz Hughes +19 to 420 (579), Sally Lewin +8 to 337 (556), Merv Farrow +48 to 444 (603), Paul Simmons +35 to 427 (589).

Bunz Hughes cleared up a 5-7 split.

The league scratch average junped by 0.6 to 134.0

In spite of losing 4-8 to third place Kings, Mac Too stay in top spot but now have only a two point lead over the Kings who move up to second on pinfall from Hot Chris Bunz. The Sopranos, on their bye week drop two places to fourth

The Brothers Grimm swept the board tonight in terms of high scores with Steve taking high series scratch and handicap (499, 616) and Terry having the best game (218 - highest in the league so far, 261). Their team scores were also the highest tonight with scratch series 955 and handicap game 450 being new season highs.

Bunz Hughes improved his high series by 9 pins to 401 (563 with handicap) and high game by 11 to 153 (207). Donna Smith added 6 to her high series, (382, 565) and 16 to her high game (161, 222). Sally Lewin had her best game of the season, 6 higher at 133 (207).

Cameron Rogers succeeded with a 5-10 split. Terry Emmony got a 3-7-10. Karl King had a clean 202 (232) game.

The league scratch average fell slightly to 133.4

Mac Too move up two places for their second spell at the top of the table having beaten Ladies Who Bowl 10-2. They have a three point lead over Sopranos who lost 8-4 to Hit and Miss and Kings remain in third, another three points down.

Finally some high scores; Karl King and Gareth Gillard were the first to break 500 this season. Karl scored 523 (622 with handicap) including a 204 (237) game. Gareth hit a 503 (602) and had a 203 (236) game. Well done to Ethan Taylor who had the third and best 200 game of the night and the season - 217 (267). Well done also to Dave Lewin who had a personal best game of 192 (257) on his way to the best handicap series of the league so far, 660 (465 scratch)

Dana Goodwin converted a 4-7-10 split.

The league scratch average jumped again, up 0.8 to 133.7

The third new leaders so far are the Sopranos who beat Whit's End 12-0 and jump from sixth with a one point advantage over Hot Chris Bunz who rise from seventh last week. Mac Too stay in touch, only two points behind in third place.

No high scratch scores again; the Sopranos took most of the high scores this week - John Crook had the best game and series, 191 (219 with handicap) and 490 (574) and team mate Ethan Taylor had the joint best handicap game 237 (181 scratch) and best handicap series 619 (451 scratch.) The Sopranos team scores were the best in every category.

With a 10-2 win over new team Whit's End, Mac Too go to the top of the table, level on points with X-Men but ahead on pinfall. Pin Pals climb a long way up the table to third after a good win against Hit & Miss and the Kings move up to fourth.

Still no scratch 500 series or 200 games. Most of the high scores came from the same match; Kings v Brothers Grimm. Terry had the best series of the night, 490 (571 with handicap) and Steve and Terry had the high scratch games; 186 in the first game. Cameron Rogers (Kings) had the best handicap series 618 (450 scratch) and game 231 (175 scratch). Mac Too had the high handicap series, 1,219 883 scratch)

X-Men started the new league with a good win over Great Balls of Fire, 12-0 and have a three point lead over Ladies Who Bowl. Mac Too and Hit and Miss both have eight points in third and fourth.

No scratch 500 series or 200 games tonight; Gareth Gillard was nearest with 492 (573 with handicap) with Karl King close behind at 488 (571). Nicola Rye-Holland hit the best game - 198 (227)
