Fatal Beauty are new leaders

    Fatal Beauty had their sixth big win in a row tonight (all at least 10-2) and take over from Pure Magic at the top of the table. This week Neil & John beat Shatners Bassoon 12-0 while last week's leaders Pure Magic were soundly beaten 12-0 by Mac Too and slip to equal second. LAPD was another team with maximum points tonight and they move up to third on pinfall.
  
  The standard of bowling keeps improving and although there weren't so many 500 series tonight, 7, and only 3 games over 200 the league average rose again to 150.2, an increase of 0.2. Keith MacFarlane was top scorer for both game (214, 238) and series (556, 628) with Malcolm Congreve just behind with 550 (583). Once again a bowler, Kevin Sharpe this week, saved his best score of the season, 535 (649) until playing Brothers Grimm and he leads the high handicap score lists.

Martin Cook converted a 2-7-10 split and Elaine Standley got a 1-2-4-10

Pure Magic extend lead

    With another 12-0 win Pure Magic have extended their lead this week to 8 points clear of second. Yet another good win for Fatal Beauty, against the Xes, has moved them up to second place above Brothers Grimm who could only get 4 points off Mac Too. LAPD stay in fourth but are now only 4 points from second.
  
  Another record for high scores, 11 bowlers were over 500, 6 had new high series for this league and the league average rose by another 0.7 to 150.0, the highest it has been for some years. Andy Wilkins lead the way this week with 571 (655 with handicap) including a clean 206 game (234). Keith MacFarlane saved his best score for some weeks, 554 (632) until playing Brothers Grimm.

Neil Taylor (Fatal Beauty) hit his fourth 500 series in a row tonight and John Bodicoat improved his high series in this league by 41 to 454.

Sarah Standley converted a 6-7-10 split.

Pure Magic keep up the pressure

    Pure Magic have kept up the pressure on the chasing teams with an emphatic 12-0 win over Hit & Miss. Only Brothers Grimm who beat last weeks third place Wilkos by 10-2 have kept up. Another good win for Fatal Beauty, this week against the Turkeys, has moved them up to third place above LAPD in fourth.
  
  Another good week for high scores, once again lead by Pure Magic and Malc Congreve. Malcolm hit three 200 games for a 673 series (718 with handicap), the highest in the league so far. Eight other bowlers scored 500 series with David Sibley next best with 558 (603) followed by Terry Damm 552 (606).

Two-thirds of bowlers improved their averages tonight and 8 players improved their high series scores for the league so far. Steve Emmony scored 500 for the first time in this league. The league average increased by a further 0.7 tp 149.4.

Well done to Neil Taylor (Fatal Beauty) who had another personal best game, 205 and series, 542.

Crunch Finch converted a 5-10 split.

Pure Magic draw clear

    Just when it looked as though Pure Magic were getting away from the pack they lose 10-2 to Fatal Beauty who, although in fourth place, have now closed the gap to only 6 points behind the leading teams. Brothers Grimm had a 12-0 win over Skittle Scuttlers and are level on points with Pure Magic but some way behind on pin fall. Wilkos in third also kept up the pressure with a 12-0 win over Mac Too who slip further down the table.
  
  Six bowlers scored over 500 this week, the best being Elaine Standley with 551 (641 with handicap) which included two games over 200. The league average continues to rise, an increase of 0.2 this week to 148.7.

The overall standard continues to rise; more than half of bowlers tonight improved their averages and 9 players improved their high series scores for the league so far. Julie Wilkins & Terry Emmony scored 500 for the first time in this league.

Crunch Finch and Lesley Reeday, playing in the same match both converted 6-7 splits. Lesley also got a 5-7.

Pure Magic draw clear

    Pure Magic had another 12-0 win, this week over The Owls and with last weeks second and third, LAPD and Mac Too, both losing heavily they draw 10 points clear of new second place Brothers Grimm. Wilkos move up to third place and the biggest risers this week, Fatal Beauty go up four places to fourth.
  
  A record 10 bowlers exceeded 500 this week with 2, Malc Congreve and David Sibley scoring over 600. There were also 7 games over 200 and the league average is also a new record, 148.5 - an increase of 1.2 on last week.

14 players improved their high series scores for the league so far, the best being by Neil Brewin who had a personal best 530, an increase of 58. Tony Pearce, Des Sands, Scott Ellington and Neil Taylor all scored 500 for the first time in this league.

Keith MacFarlane was successful with a 2-4-10 split and Crunch Finch got a 2-4-6-10.

Pure Magic set the pace

    In a volatile table at this stage of the league Pure Magic, who beat Young Guns 12-0, stay at the top. Duo, beaten 10-2 by Wilkos, slip from second to seventh. LAPD also won 12-0 (v Skittle Scuttlers) and move up to scond place, 4 points behind the leaders, followed by Mac Too who also had a 12-0 win tonight.
  
  The overall league average went up by another 0.6 to 147.3 - the best ever for this league. There was some consistently high bowling by many bowlers; one third of players reached 500 but only one 200 game was scored. Elaine Standley heads all the high score lists this week with her 538 series (634 with handicap) and the best game, 213 (245). With Sarah also bowling well, LAPD also outscored all other teams in the high team score lists.

Well done again to Sarah Standley who followed up her best ever series last week with another 500 series this week and also hit her best ever game, 199.

Elaine also had the best split conversion with a 2-10. Martin Cook was successful with a 1-2-10 split and Sarah Standley got a 2-5-7.

Pure Magic with big score

    An emphatic 12-0 win over Skittle Scuttlers has kept Pure Magic at the top of the table, 4 points ahead of Duo who scored 8 points tonight against Fatal Beauty and 4 from their game from last week against The Owls. LAPD also had a 12-0 win tonight (also against The Owls) to move up to third.
  
  Some excellent scoring tonight, manily by Pure Magic, Malcolm Congreve and David Sibley. These two head all of the high score lists this week with Malc scoring this league's first 600 series. Pure Magic now also lead in all the team high scores for the league so far.

Well done to Sarah Standley who scored her first ever 500 series with 509 (638 with handicap) beating her previous best by 22 pins. Diane MacFarlane also excelled herself with her best score in Monday night leagues, 523 (649)

Mary Grayson was successful with a 5-10 split and Ian Smith got a 5-7.The league average rose dramatically by 2.1 pins to 146.7.

Pure Magic take over

    With Duo away at the football, five teams move ahead of them. Last week's second, Pure Magic go top with an 8-4 win over Xes followed by 1022 who also won 8-4 against a depleted Skittle Scuttlers. Turkeys jump 5 places to third after beating Shatners Bassoon 10-2.
  
  Scoring was much better this week, seven players had 500 series, lead by Malc Congreve with 538 (610 with handicap). Martin Cook scored the highest game of the night, a clean 233 (263). John Bodicoat scored his best ever game, 193 (243), closely followed by his worst in the league. Lesley Reeday hit a 500 series for the first time in 2 seasons.

Elaine Standley had the best split convertion, 2-4-10. The league average rose by 3.3 pins to 144.6

Duo with early lead

    The Young Guns were the team to catch the effect of last weeks' poor performance by Duo which lead to them having a combined handicap of 100. Duo won 12-0 which puts them at the top of the table by 4 points from Pure Magic who had another 8-4 win this week over Shatners Bassoon. 1022 stay in the top three even though they could only draw against Xes.
  
  Overall the scoring tonight was quite poor, the league average fell by another 2.6 to 140.9. Only Richard Lester 545 (689 with handicap) and Terry Damm 515 (534) were able to break 500 and only Richard hit a 200 game (223, 271 with handicap)
