With another 12-0 win, Brothers Grimm go to the top of the table, two points ahead of Dominoes who slipped up tonight against a strong Hit & Miss. The Turkeys, also 12-0 winners, move up to third a further three points adrift but ahead of LAPD by two points.

Some excellent scores tonight after a bit of a drought - nine players scored 500 series and there were five 200 games. Merv Farrow (X-Men) was top scorer, improving his high series by 84 to 589 (697 with handicap) and including the best handicap game - 256 (220 scratch). John Bryer also improved his high scores for the league with a 580 series (652) and the best scratch game of the night, 227 (251). Martin Cook improved his high series by five to 564 (639).

Three bowlers had new high series scores tonight to reach 500 for the first time in this league: Steve Bryer 38 higher at 506 (641), Rich Lester +18 at 502 (614) and Lesley Reeday +53 at 501 (636). All three also had new high games with Lesley scoring her first ever clean game, 199 (244). Ed Vigars (the Encore Mafia) hit a new personal best series of 397 (583) and Steve Cousins improved his high series by 46 to 443 (605)


Gary Wileman converted a 5-7 split.

The league scratch average improved by 0.5 to 147.2

After a late start and mostly unprepared lanes, many bowlers didn't reach their normal scoring levels and averages fell significantly for some. Leaders Dominoes hold on to top spot by six points from Brothers Grimm who are up one place after beating Pin Fellas. LAPD Mk3 fall a place to third after losing to Turkeys,

Very few high scores tonight. Keith MacFarlane was one of only two bowlers to reach 500 with 510 (624 with handicap), 29 higher than his previous best for the season. This included the best game of the night, 221 (259), 24 higher than his high game for this league.

Richard Lester got the other 200 game (his first of the season); 206 (241). Brian Grayson also improved his high game, by five, to 192 (228)



Keith MacFarlane got an excellent 6-7-10 split and Diane was successsful with a 5-10.

The league scratch average fell by 1.1 to 146.7

On position night Dominoes produced another good team series to beat Brothers Grimm quite easily by 8-4. Last weeks third place LAPD beat X-Men by 12-0 and jump to second, five points behind Dominoes.

The Dominoes and LAPD produced all of the high scratch scores this week but Pretty in Pink had the best handicap game, 445 (356 scratch)

After two weeks in the 590s, Alan Barton finally got a 600 series, with an excellent 626 (659 with handicap) including games of 228 (239) and 212. Alan now has the highest scratch series of the league, five pins ahead of Rose. Mick Freeborn hit the best handicap game, 240 (196 scratch - his best of the league) and second best handicap series, 630 (498 scratch - 21 better than his previous highest). Ed Vigars (The Encore Mafia) had a new high series - 11 better at 395 (578)

Tony King improved his best scratch game by 23 to 178 (236), Brian Grayson had a new high game of 187 (224).

Merv Farrow (X-Men) converted a 1-2-5-10 spare.

The league scratch average fell by 0.2 to 147.8.

After beating the Owls 10-2, Dominoes now have a four point lead over Brothers Grimm who took all 12 points from Wet Haired Teapots (played on 19/6). LAPD3 and X-Men slip down a place after both losing. The Turkeys move up two places to fifth with a hgh scoring win over Pretty in Pink.

The Turkeys and the Dominoes provided most of the high scores again this week. Alan Barton missed a chance with his last ball to hit a 600 series, ending with 593 (632 with handicap). Rose was next highest with 568 (601) and Martin Cook third with his best score of the league so far, 559 (634). Only four 200+ games this week with Alan hitting two of them but Martin had the best one; a clean game of 225 (250).

In the team high scores it was Dominoes followed by Turkeys in all four lists.

Mary Grayson and Richard Lester both improved their high game scores for this league by three pins to 180 (222) and 183 (219)


Lots of splits tonight but not too many were converted. Alan Barton got the best one, a 4-10 and Rose dealt with a 5-10

The league scratch average was unchanged at 147.9.

Dominoes take over at the top after another good win. Last weeks leaders X-Men fall to third after losing to third place LAPD who take over at second. Brothers Grimm move up to fourth but only six points cover the first four teams.

The Dominoes again dominate the high scores lists. This week it was Alan's turn to be top scorer - just two pins short of 600 (646 with handicap) including the best game; 227 (243). Martin Cook and John Bryer both hit 531 series. Tim Hill (LAPD Mk3) had the best handicap series - 656 which is the second best in the league so far. Tim's 521 scratch was his best ever series in Monday night bowling.

Several bowlers recorded big improvements in their high scores for the league: Mick Freeborn (Pretty in Pink) +75 to 477 (627), Diane MacFarlane (Mac Too) +57 to 508 (634 - third best this week), Tony King (Men behaving Badly) +34 to 442 (631)



Steve Emmony got a 2-4-10, Susie Cousins (Pin Fellas) was successful with a 5-7. Diane MacFarlane had a clean game in scoring 190 (232)

X-Men keep top spot in the table after winning again tonight but new second place Dominoes now only trail them by one point having easily beaten Duo. LAPD Mk 3 go up a place to third after a 12-0 win over Pin Fellas. Last weeks third, Brothers Grimm drop three places having been soundly beaten by Pretty in Pink.

Rose Barton hit the first 600 scratch series of the league with games of 233 and 206 for a 621 series (657 with handicap). Nicola Rye-Holland had the best scratch game though - 236 (263) in the next highest series, 554 (635).

Well done to Sally Freeborn (Pretty in Pink) who saved her personal best score for the match against Brothers Grimm.... a 212 game (263 - joint season's best with Nicola), beating her previous best by around 50 pins. James Hulbert (Pretty in Pink) also improved his high game and series. Paul Hurst (X-Men) bowled consistently better than his average to score a 641 handicap series.



Ady (X-Men) was successful with a 3-7 split.
